More from the Country

So many recent XC results, great to see our younger members getting in on the action at Lewes last week with Freddie Wallis and Ella Perry competing at the regional Schools XC event. Great effort from both with Ella finishing 10th and qualifying through to the primary schools Sussex finals, Well done.
The turn of the secondary schools last Wed in Brighton. On a tough hilly course we had a fantastic turnout of runners. Junior girls saw Bethany Cook 1st, Elouise Key 4th, Daisy Burton 9th, Amber Blake 11th, Hannah Miller 25th. With 173 runners, massive field for this age group all these girls excelled to place in the top 25. Well done to Beth and Elouise who secure automatic selection to English Schools in March. Junior boys saw Benedict Noon have his best ever race finishing 12th out of 178.
Inter girls saw Kaja Simonsen Brickley go one better with 11th /72 runners, one of her best performances to date.
A very speedy inter boys race saw Adam Armitage lose a shoe and still manage to bag 19th, Charlie Lovett following him home in 20th and Seb Rann 55th /102 runners.
Senior boys saw Noah Canby continue to improve over the country with a strong 5th backed up by Travis Hutchison in 18th /53.
All athletes finishing in the top 20 have been invited to run for Sussex at the SE Schools xc champs in Bedfordshire on the 3rd Feb.
Finally at the other end of our age groups it was lovely to see a strong representation at the Sussex master xc champs in lancing on Sat afternoon.
