Team Bodyworks is the only club in the UK recognised as a British Triathlon Satellite Centre thanks to its ability to offer an uninterrupted pathway for aspiring World Class triathletes and paratriathletes from the age of 7 all the way through to full time professionals.
Coaching Staff
Its highly experienced coaching and support team is led by Director of Coaching, Glenn Cook (GB Olympic Team Coaching Staff) and Director of Junior Development, Sarah Coope (England Talent SE Academy Head Coach).
Both Glenn and Sarah enjoyed unparalleled success as elite British triathletes in the 1980’s and 90’s, and have since gone on to coach WTS and Olympic Reserve athletes, Olly Freeman (2008) and Todd Leckie (2012), along with numerous World, European and British Junior & Youth Champions in a variety of endurance disciplines.
Sport Science Support
Alongside the coaching team, Aspire athletes have access to World Class sports science support in the form of Lead Physiologist & Head of Paratriathlon, Dr Gary Brickley (Senior Lecturer, Sport & Exercise Science, University of Brighton). Gary is a competitive long distance swimmer and award winning coach for his work with Team GB Paralympic legends, Dame Sarah Storey OBE, David Stone MBE, Darren Kenny OBE and Joe Townsend.
Performance Lifestyle Support
Team Bodyworks invests heavily in performance mentoring and lifestyle support to help athletes, and their extended teams (including parents, schools, therapists, partners and sponsors), understand the pathway, the nature of performance and how to overcome the challenges involved.
As a co-founder of Team Bodyworks, Stuart Wilkinson (Director) has spent over 20 years observing coaches and athletes of all ages and abilities at close hand, making sense of their intricate relationships and the impact internal and external forces can have on their mutual success and happiness. Blending this learning with wider professional experience as an entrepreneur, qualified Executive Coach and mentor to creators, Stuart works closely with Glenn, Sarah, Gary and the rest of the team to ensure all athletes are given every opportunity to become the best they can be in sport, and in life.
