Success at Sussex County Cross Country Championships

2017 was kicked off in style by the TeamBW athletes at the Sussex Cross Country Championships held at Bexhill Common on Saturday 7th January.

U13 Girls. Bethany Cook 1st and the Team 2nd (Beth Cook, Amber Blake, Hannah Miller, Daisy Burton, Eloise Key and Kitty Moon)

U17 Girls Almi Neruker 1st, Poppy Mercer 3rd, Abi Hughes 5th

U20 Men  Luke Howard 3rd, Kieren Lindars 4th

A couple of observations from the races were……
1. Some athletes havent been well which is going to effect performance. So it’s important to keep your races in perspective today. There is always another day. It does make you realise to make the most of times when you are fit and well.
2. Some athletes who haven’t been ill and haven’t trained over Christmas and New Year again you can’t expect to perform at the top of your game. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. Hopefully you can return to training and over the upcoming weeks return to fitness.

Full results are on www.sussexathletics.net shortly

Thanks to everyone who turned out. “Be sure to measure your performance on the effort you put in not the position you finished.”
